The original Eden Court was opened in April 1976, in 2005 it closed as it needed of serious refurbishment, and new legislation required better access for people with disabilities. Reopening in November 2007, as the one of the best equipped arts centres in the country. The Victorian Bishop's Palace and 1976 theatre, both Grade A Listed, were retained and two new extensions added a second theatre, two new cinemas, two dance and drama studios and three floors of purpose built dressing rooms.

Eden Court Theatre is jam packed with choices from the very latest movies showing at the two cinemas, a variety of performers from drama to comedy, musicals, musicals, opera and choral performing in its two theatres.
